Teaching Through Play

STEM stand for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.  STEM is more than just teaching these subjects, It is a new way of thinking about the integration of knowledge across all discipline areas.  Success in learning requires the learner to be at the center of the experience making connections across all disciplines.  We need more that cute ideas and cookie cutter activities. About Steve Spangler

Steve Spangler is a teacher, a toy designer, a speaker, an author and an Emmy award-winning television personality. He is well-known for his work as a funny and engaging science guy on stage, television and as a YouTube celebrity.

He began his career as a teacher in Colorado. As part of a science outreach program, he created a traveling science show targeting elementary and middle school students across the nation. The program was designed to increase interest in science throughout the schools. Over the course of the program, he had presented over 4,500 science shows for students and teachers throughout the US.

Steve Spangler has hosted several summer science institutes as a professional development opportunity for science educators. He has shown classroom teachers how to take classroom science experiments to the extreme and he is willing to do anything possible to make science fun. He believes in growing new scientists and engineers

Steve Spangler has also founded the Steve Spangler Science, a Denver based company that specializes in the creation of science toys, classroom science demonstration, as well as teacher and parent resources. He is also known for the Sick Science! YouTube channel which contains instructional videos on simple at home or classroom science experiments. The Spangle Science Club is about making science fun one month at a time.  You don’t need to be a science expert to help your child learn science.  These boxes have been created with easy to follow instruction cards to guide you and your young scientists through every experiment.

STEMlab

There are two types of Clubs you can decide to join.  The STEMlab or the STEMdelux. 

The STEMlab boxes will contain up to 5 activities, experiments and design challenges each month.  The box will be filled with all the science tools and resources that you will need to complete the activities.

The easy to follow instruction cards will help guide your young scientist through every experiment to make the learning process exciting and fun.

 

STEMdelux

The STEMdeluxe boxes contain up to 10 activities, experiments and design challenges each month. They are designed to prepare your young scientist for a future in STEM-based careers.  These boxes are designed to be explored together and are designed to be the perfect collaborative learning experiences for the child and adult alike. Just the the STEMlab box, these boxes will be filled with the tools and resources needed to conduct the experiments, but the STEMdelux boxes will include take-it-furthur challenges that combine critical thinking and fun.

Each box will include two experiment guides.  You will get the  easy to follow step-by step instructions guide for the young scientist.  This will walk them through the scientific method while providing open-ended activities to promote further learning.  You will also recieve the adult document will contain the science explanation behind all of the experiments and answers to all of the science questions. You’ll also receive helpful tips and suggestions for ways to work with your child to create an unforgettable learning experience.
